The second season of the original Netflix series "Squid Game" has won Best Foreign Language Series from the U.S. Critics Choice Awards.
At the 30th edition of the honors in Santa Monica, California, on Feb. 7, the second season of the K-drama won the prize that the first did in 2022.
The awards are given to works and actors in TV and film as decided by critics of both visual media in the U.S.
On the latest honor for "Squid Game," Entertainment Weekly lauded how the series uniquely blends social commentary with high-tension drama, eliciting universal empathy, adding that it shows changing trends in global entertainment tastes.
Variety predicted that by 2030, half of all hit content on streaming sites will originate from outside Hollywood, with "Squid Game" paving the way.
Debuting on Dec. 26 last year, the second season of the hit K-drama set a Netflix record for the most views by a work in its first week of release.
